Collections Information
The Conner-Bishop Historical Resource Center is being established to honor Eloise Conner Bishop and Charles Kay Bishop.
The Focus will be on materials to assist family history researchers add details of their families.
Collections on hand or promised include:
- Richardson Dougall: European History Collection formerly at the NGS Library in Arlington, VA.
- The National Genealogical Society Hall of Fame Collection of books and portraits as well as duplicate copies from the general collection formerly in Arlington, VA.
- The Former New England Historic Genealogical Society Circulating collection has been acquired.
- Ruth Chauncey Bishop: Civil War and Americana Collections.
- William R. and Kaleen E. Beall: Medieval and Modern European History and Biography, Entertainment History, Automotive History, and the Beall Family Assn. Library Collections.
- Stanley R. Clarke: British, Oregon and General Collections.
- The Dean H. Byrd and Janice M. Healy Oregon Burial Site Guide Collection, including all photos and maps used for producing the book.
- Professor Emeritus, John A. Schutz, deceased, of the University of Southern California; Historical Journals, early California Catholic Church and Mission Histories, Massachusetts State Legislative Journals and many Biographies.
- Helen F. M. Leary: Personal Library of North & South Carolina Records, plus other southern states.
- Bound Portland Newspapers donated by the Oregon Historical Society.
- Computer History Collection
- Other collections are also being donated through wills and trusts.
Our goal is to keep all of these collections intact.
